This week is beyond hectic. Market Platz is getting set up for the weekend and we are busily trying to get organized.
For a variety of reasons, we will not be having Zwilling Fest this year. Instead, we are having Küchen Fest (or probably more accurately cuckoo fest). We have merchandise you can only get here - mugs from Deneen Pottery in Minnesota and Vereins Kirche cookie molds, among others. Come and start your holiday shopping.
For the demo this week, I'll be showing you how to make Springerles. These are a molded cookie that is meant to be dunked in your hot cocoa, coffee, or tea and not fall apart. My grandmother and i made these together when I was a child. I will be sharing her recipe with you.
We will also have food samples. Several of us are making traditional German cookies and I will be making pretzels so you will have an authentic way to sample our wonderful German mustard from Fredericksburg Farms.
This is always a crazy but exciting weekend in Fredericksburg. We hope we will see you!
